The 6th “Golden Site 2014” has just finished

The 6th „Golden site 2014 National Competition” has just finished. The contest was attended by 136 communities that submitted 212 investment locations. The Jury chose 16 winners – the best investment sites in Poland. Winners were awarded by deputy prime minister Janusz Piechociński, deputy minister of Economy Ilona Antoniszyn-Klik and PAIiIZ members of the Board.

“A lot has been changed regarding Polish local authorities – there are new people and better quality of service” said deputy prime minister Janusz Piechociński commenting the high level of the contest’s participants. “Polish economy gives a hope for a better tomorrow”, he added. As it was marked by PAIiIZ president, Sławomir Majman, foreign public opinion admires and appreciates Polish economic success. He mentioned the article published by Die Welt, where it was said that currently, Poland was experiencing >>the most joyful moment of its history since there decades<<.

“Every investor – a foreign or a Polish one – is important for us”, said Sławomir Majman. Communities with best investment locations of the 2014 in Poland know it very well. “60% of investment plots that won this year already host investors”, he added. Winning the contest gives a winner a better promotional opportunities and a bigger chance for gaining new foreign investments to the community. There is also a possibility to use PAIiIZ assistance and get recommended by the Agency or its local partners Investor Assistance Centres during the decision making by investors. Communities can also benefit from getting information regarding trends in investors’ expectations and thus to be better prepared to provide services for foreign companies. “Current, there is a growing interest in greenfrield sites. Companies are also looking for areas close to speed roads and SEZs”, argues Adam Małecki, deputy director of Foreign Investment Department in PAIiIZ.
